Grounds Maintenance Worker 
Salary:  $16.30 hourly;  $33,904 annually
Job Closing Date:  Continuous
Grounds maintenance workers maintain the grounds of county-owned property using various hand tools and power equipment.  Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, mowing, mulching, placing sod, fertilizing, spraying, raking, trimming and removing debris.

Internships

New Hanover County Parks & Gardens is continuously seeking part- and full-time interns to assist in various roles relating to the day-to-day operations and success of the county parks department while learning skills related to parks, programming and management. Interns work within many different areas of the department including administration, operations, programming, special events, marketing and customer service. Interns may also work in different locations including the parks and gardens office, county parks and gardens facilities including Airlie Gardens and Echo Farms Park, and off-site special event locations. Responsibilities vary and may include customer service, operating recreation software, maintaining facilities, organizing and overseeing special events, representing the department at community outreach events and festivals, volunteer coordination, program development and implementation.
